The Centre Photographique d’Île-de-France welcomes two types of residencies for artists in need to develop a photographic project.
The CPIF develops experimental projects that go beyond an essentialist approach to the photographic medium, which explains the specific nature of the projects in its residency programme that consider research and post-production from a global standpoint.
The CPIF promotes the exploratory dimension of time spent in residency to allow artists to work on contemporary photography from different angles: photography is not considered as an isolated and autonomous practice, but as part of the wider field of contemporary art.
Every year since 2007, the CPIF has also invited a foreign artist for a three-month residency to start on or pursue their artistic research.
